Nothing sounds better in the hot summertime than an ice cold glass of lemonade. Make it lavender lemonade and it gets 10 times better! This is just your basic lemonade recipe with a hint of lavender simple syrup. It's so simple but is a real show stopper and a great way to bring these pretty blooms indoors.
To start, you're gonna need lots of lemon and of course lavender!
Lavender Lemonade
1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 cup lavender simple syrup
Scant 4 cups water
Ice
Serves 4-6
To make, simply mix lemon juice with cooled simple syrup and add water. Stir with ice to make it nice and frosty and pour into glasses with a few sprigs of lavender.
Lavender Simple Syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
2-3 tablespoons culinary lavender
Combine sugar and water in a sauce pan over medium to high heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil and then add lavender, let simmer for about 5 minutes before turning off the heat. Set aside to cool, when ready to use strain out the lavender and discard, it will have had time then to steep and impart all its flavor! This is so yummy and is not at all over powering, its just a slight essence of herbal flavor that's perfect for a hot day!
